What Do Dog-Friendly Hotels and Kosher Kitchens Have in Common?

So – why is a meeting and conference planner talking about dogs and kosher kitchens? Good Question .

When we work with clients in planning their meetings, conferences, and special events , we really get to know them.  We get to know what their goals and objectives are, what their needs are, and what their “wish list” is too.

Frequently, we are asked to find venues that have various criteria.  The client wants a dog-friendly hotel , or they need to serve kosher meals or even raw meals.  I have client that wants to “smudge” the ballroom before the conference begins, which requires turning off the smoke alarms to the conference wing for about 10 minutes in order to perform this cleansing ritual.  We have had clients request that all of their meetings be held on ground level meeting rooms – someone doesn’t like elevators, escalators, or stairs.

Why is this important?

As an event planner , it is important for us to source the best possible venue for your meeting, conference, special event, product launch, fundraiser or gala.  Not only so that we can meet your needs but we also want to exceed your expectations.

We search locations for a lot of different criteria.  It doesn’t start and stop with availability and budget.

Criteria for Choosing the Right Venue:

  • Are there enough guest rooms/suites available for our conference date(s)?
  • Accessibility – will the delegates be arriving by airport/taxi/foot to the venue?
  • Do the meeting rooms meet specifications?
  • Audio visual availability – what is in house, and what do we contract?
  • On-site support services
  • Wi-Fi
  • Ancillary services

If your guests would like to travel with their spouse and their dog (and that will make them happier and more productive at the conference), then that’s what we want to give you.  If the client demographic requires specialty meals, then a kitchen facility that can accommodate that is imperative.  If the majority of your guests are smokers and they need to step out every hour for a break, then having a ground floor meeting room is important. That way, smoking guests can get in and out of the building quickly – which will allow the schedule to keep on time.

Want a top notch meeting, conference, or special event that your guests will rave about for years to come? Call us today and let’s get planning!
